Our new sermon series is: “Sanctified Suffering”- A study of 1 Peter.  Thinking about the life of the apostle Peter, I am taken back by two important points. First, Peter was an ordinary man that God saved, changed and used mightily for God’s Glory and Mission. We must remember it is more about availability, then ability. Second, Peter was a man who learned hard lessons through difficult times. God has a purpose in all that takes place in the life of His children.  Peter writes this concerning our Lord’s arduous trials, “when he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly.” 1 Peter 2:23
